Campfire ... May 20, 2012

In preparation for building our addition at the cottage on Pillar Point, we cut down four trees.  Two of them were quite small, one of fairly good sized and the fourth was quite large.  We cut up the wood for firewood but there was a huge pile of brush from the small branches.  The pile covered a large portion of one-half the yard on the shore side and was probably eight to 10 feet tall.

On the evening of May 20, conditions were right and we decided to burn it.  Ken Hanson was up from Georgia and Steven and the family was there.  By the end of the evening, all that was left of the pile was some dead grass.  At times, the flames were 15-20 feet high.
