David plays once a week with a jam group. This group started
several years ago and for a long time, we played at the home of the Jefferson
Country Radio Amateur Club just off outer Arsenal Street in
Watertown between April through November. In the winter months, we
met at a number of different places but just after Christmas 2008, we started playing
in the community room at
the Dexter Fire Hall every Tuesday night. Because of its easy
access, the size of the facility and the positive way we have been
greeted, this is now our year-round venue. Because we started playing at the ham
radio clubhouse, we have become known as "Ham Jam". This group was founded by Jim Dupre, Paul Ferry and Bill Mack around
2002. Bill now lives in Florida but sits in with us when he
is up in the area. Jim and Paul are regulars during the summer. John
Thomas participates whenever his schedule allows it. John and Gay
Schurer and Dick Spencer are regulars during their non-Florida
months. Ray Sabre and Bob Ferrell are
there most weeks and a number of others sit in
from time to time.
